Over time the OEM shift linkage bushings deteriorate, causing the shifter to lose precision and feel sloppy. In severe cases this can even make gear selection difficult or nearly impossible. Bushings in these locations are often subject to extreme heat from exahust components, oil or oil vapors from engine leaks, and salt and debris from the road; these factors can harden and deteriorate rubber bushings rapidly. SuperPro bushings are more durable and give more positive location rubber bushings, resulting in a shifter that feels solid and precise.
