The A6 was born from the early large chassis cars such as the Audi 5000 and 200. The A6 naming was adopted in 1994 with the move to the 4th generation C4 chassis. Now situated in the upper middle of the Audi range size wise the A6 is currently on it's 8th generation iteration.
