Vogtland 968767 Coilover Kits come with matched spring rates and shock valving which allows you to lower the car without lowering comfort. Feedback and control during hard cornering will increase without compromising ride quality. By utilizing stiffer springs than OEM with shocks specifically valved for the higher rate springs, the Vogtland 968740 coilovers are a great choice for getting the perfect stance on your car. Vogtland coilovers are in line with ISO TS 16949 and certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 standards and TÃV approved.

These kits combine user selectable height reduction, stiffer springs and properly matched shocks that will improve steering response, reduce body roll and reduce understeer.

Vogtland 968767 Suspension Height:
Vogtland Coilover kits allow for height adjustability. This allows the vehicle to be set to a ride height of your exact preference or to be set up for the best handling possible. Vogtland includes an adjustment wrench.

Adjustment range:

  • Front 1.0-2.2" lower than stock
  • Rear 0.8-1.8" lower than stock

Vogtland 968767 Coilover Vehicle Fitment:
This Vogtland Coilover kit is designed to fit the following vehicles.

Fits:

  • 2015 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen 1.8T Gas FWD w/ 50mm strut
  • 2016 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen 1.8T Gas FWD w/ 50mm strut
  • 2017 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen 1.8T Gas FWD w/ 50mm strut

Vogtland Coilover Dampers:
Vogtland coilovers use gas charged twin tube dampers. For corrosion protection the front dampers are Cad plated while the rear dampers are painted.

Advantages of twin-tube gas shocks:

  • Minimal gas pressure required to keep fluid from foaming

Vogtland Coilover Springs:
Vogtland sport springs are produced using special oil tempered spring steels of high tensile strength chrome-silicon (CrSi) and chrome-silicon-vanadium (CrSiV) alloys using the cold coiling process. This provides reduced spring weight with high material strength, effectively reducing the unsprung weight of the vehicle and optimizing handling characteristics. After the cold coiling process, the springs are tempered, shotpeened and preset to ensure consistent vehicle ride height and suspension function. Finally the springs are phosphated and powder coated to ensure a superior corrosion barrier for years of service.
Progressive springs gradually increase spring rate as the spring compresses. This increasing rate allows progressive springs to be soft over small road imperfections and transitions and stiffen up during hard braking and cornering. They are a great compromise between high performance when driving hard, while providing comfortable ride quality during normal driving.

Advantages of progressive springs:

  • Soft over uneven pavement to provide comfort.
  • Firm during hard cornering to provide driver feedback and control.

Some Vogtland coilover kits use main springs which have dead or inactive coils that act as a tender spring. These are the coils of the main springs that are very close to each other and completely compress when loaded. When you increase the spring rate and lower the vehicle the spring needs to be shorter than the original. However the springs should not be loose in the spring perches when the suspension is fully extended. These dead or inactive coils prevent that from happening.

Vogtland Coilover Install:
Installation of Vogtland Street Coilovers typically takes 4-6 hours. Basic hand tools and a spring compressor are necessary for installation. Please observe all safety precautions and follow proper installation guidelines while working on your vehicle. Additional suspension components may be needed in some applications, depending upon the make, model, engine and chassis of the vehicle. We typically recommend setting coilovers for a half inch gap between the top of the tire and the top of the fender lip for a good compromise between looks, performance and comfort. The optimal ride height for performance may be different than the optimal ride height for comfort. The optimal ride height for looks is up to the owners preference. Achtuning recommends waiting 1 week after install for the suspension to "settle" before alignment.
