The second generation A3 was the first one that made its way to North America. Having last sold a hatchback for the US market in the mid 1970s it was high time for Audi to re-introduce a hatchback to their lineup. The early A3 2.0T engines were an FSI type, around 2008 the TFSI engine was introduced which changed the high pressure fuel pump configuration.
